Privacy Policy
Effective 8 October 2026
The short version: Vale & Daughter collects no data about you. Nothing you do in the game leaves your phone unless you send it to someone yourself.
This policy covers the iOS game Vale & Daughter (“the app”), made by Pietro Messineo (“we”, “us”).
What we collect
Nothing. The app has no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, no third-party SDKs and no servers of its own. We can't see who plays, how they play, or where they are.
What stays on your phone
- Your progress and settings: which safes you've opened, best times, vault finds and your preferences are saved locally by iOS on your device. They're removed when you delete the app. They may be included in your device backups according to your own iCloud or computer backup settings.
- Your combinations are drawn from a random number created on your device the first time you play. It isn't linked to you.
Motion and the hinge
To turn the safe's dial, the app reads the angle of your iPhone Duo's hinge, or the tilt of your iPhone, in real time. These readings are used only while you play, only on your device, and are never stored or sent anywhere. The app does not use the microphone, camera, location, contacts or photos.
Purchases
The optional one-time purchase is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never receive your name, payment details or Apple Account information. The app checks your purchase on the device using Apple's StoreKit. Apple's handling of your data is described in Apple's Privacy Policy.
Safes for friends
When you lock a safe for a friend, the combination, the name you type and the note you leave are packed into a link on your device. You choose how to send it (Messages, email or any other app), and that app's own privacy terms apply. The link never passes through us. Anyone who has the link can open that safe and read the note, so please don't put anything private or sensitive in it. When you open a friend's safe, the link is read on your device only.
Children
The app is suitable for all ages and collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
Your rights
Because we hold no personal data about you, there's nothing for us to access, correct, export or delete. To remove everything the app has stored, delete the app, or use Settings → Forget every safe opened.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date above. If the app ever starts collecting data, we'll say so here and in the App Store's privacy details first.
